Christ's (True) Church Is a House of Prayer

Isaiah 56:7 Even them I will bring to My holy mountain,

And make them joyful in My house of prayer.
Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices
Will be accepted on My altar;
For My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations.”

Luke 19:45 Then He went into the temple and began to drive out those who bought and sold in it, 46 saying to them, “It is written, ‘My house is a house of prayer,’ but you have made it a ‘den of thieves.’ ”

Acts 6: 4 but we will give ourselves continually to prayer and to the ministry of the word.”

Acts 12:5 Peter was therefore kept in prison, but constant prayer was offered to God for him by the church.

Ephesians 6:18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints

1Thessalonians 5:17 pray without ceasing,

Surely, one of the many things that Christ accomplished by His once-for-all sacrifice was the consecration of His church as a house of prayer (n.b. Isa 56:7 above). A genuinely, biblically Christ-ian congregation will be a praying congregation.

▪Do our elders’ habits show that our congregation is a “house of prayer”?
▪Do the habits of our households show that our congregation is a “house of prayer”?
▪Does the place and proportion of prayer in our public worship show that our congregation is a “house of prayer”?
▪Does the ordinary response to present distresses or deliverances show that our congregation is a “house of prayer”?
▪Does the place (or existence—Lord have mercy!) of the prayer meeting in congregational life show that our congregation is a “house of prayer”?
▪Does the attendance at the prayer meeting show that our congregation is a “house of prayer”?
▪Does the earnestness of the prayer meeting prayers show that our congregation is a “house of prayer”?
